Frank had a 5 year preclusion period but had difficulties negotiating with Centrelink as a result of his acquired brain injury.
He was referred to our social worker who is guiding and supporting him through the appeals process. To date he has successfully challenged Centrelink’s decision not to accept his claim for a health care card – for which he proved eligible.
This model of advocacy where we work with the client so they gain the outcomes will be particularly useful as Frank will need to deal with many other challenges in his life.
